Hey, I gotta thank the guy who posted the repair advice above!!  I have a 2003 Camry LE 4cyl and I had exactly the same blinking AC light.  I followed the advice exactly and replaced the AC Clutch Relay.  I went to an auto parts store and picked up the relay for $17, dropped in the new part and the problem was solved.  I was feeling like I would be facing a big bill at the dealer and who knows if they would have gotten the diagnosis right the first time.  You can bet it would have cost more than $17

4Runner2003,

I really appreciate this information!!!

I have a 1996 Camry 4 cyl with the same, blinking air conditioning light.  The mechanic I took it to said my compressor was bad.  I just had a new compressor installed at the dealership in July of 2002, and was hoping it wasn't that again.

I just called the parts department and will pick up the new magnetic clutch relay after work today!  And, because you told how to do it, I will take the old one out and put the new one in myself!  Keep your fingers crossed that it works.  The part costs a whole $22.42!  Alot cheaper than a new compressor!

Oh, one other thing, I wanted to make sure I copied the right part number off the old one.  When I raised the lid off the fuse/relay box the numbers were quite small.  No matter how I turned my head I couldn't make out the last couple of numbers.

I grabbed by digital camera, and using "macro", took a picture of the part.  Then I could zoom in on the number!!!!  I also use my digital camera to take pictures of the "taking apart" process when repairing things so I will have that to refer to if I run into problems and can't remember.

As a single mom, I like to repair as many things on my own as I can.

Thank you again!!!

Edited:  I replaced the magnetic clutch relay but I'm still getting a flashing green light when I turn the a/c on.  I have an appt. with the garage on Monday to check the problem out.  Looks like a new compressor is in the cards.  I'm going to FL this July and I don't want to be without ac!

I pulled the cabin air filter out and it needed to be changed so I did that, it started working for a little bit and then stopped again so I then changed out the Mag CLT relay and that seemed to take care of the problem for the time being.
