Well, this is kewl. One of the biggest problems with SUVs have been safety concerns. Tipping, especially, is the big one, especially after the Ford Explorer issues a few years ago. Even small SUVs could feel unwieldly though you'd have to be driving really fast and dumb (i.e., let's see how to take that curve!) to start any rollin'. Sadly, you read too many stories.
DETROIT - The 2006 Chevrolet HHR small utility vehicle earned best-in-class, "five star" crash safety ratings in the latest federal New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) frontal and side-impact crash tests.
NCAP results are conveyed via a star rating system - from one to five stars, with five being the highest.
All of GM's small SUVs now register a 5-star/5-star safety performance in the tests administered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Too bad the HHR is so ugly. Maybe they would sell more. First the SSR now the HHR. Chevy is batting 1000 on ugly vehicles.

I don't if I'd call it 'ugly'. Unique-looking, maybe
