first step... if the battery terminals were loose.. they might need additional cleaning..

cleaning involves with the engine off.. keys in your pocket..  both battery cables removed from the battery..

usually hot water followed by a wire tooth brush or scotch bright pads to get thru any corrosion..

there are Thousands of codes.. and many can be set because of electrical connection issues..

ford focus models are well known to need the Ground cable connections cleaned..

why its just a ground... well.. on cars.. its called a ground connection but its actually half the circuit and the side with the electrons..

electrons travel from Negative to positive.. no ground or iffy ground connection.. no power.. or limited power..  electric or electronic controls can't handle reduced power on either the positive or negative side..  just like your computer won't work if its not plugged all the way into the wall firmly..

this is a test i came up with a few years ago on this forum..
