Replace 225/65R17 with 225/60R17?

First, I doubt any tire shop will allow you to go down in size.  That's the direction towards more failures.


But there are other tires in the proper size that have excellent snow traction, so you still have plenty of options.

There are literally hundreds of makes and models of tires on the market today - and it is constantly changing.  I can't keep up, so I don't even try.

But Tire Rack has ratings of tires and that should provide you with enough information to make a decision.
