Hi there

I am from Seattle WA, drive Chevy Prizm 1999. However, the question is for any small sedan.
Chevrolet Prizm 1999 3

In Northern Seattle, cars are allowed to park right near of the intersection:
Ajaccio School Kids Being Escorted Across Pedestrian Crossing Carrying AC51KA
Crosswalk Stop Line Parked Car Between Stop Line And Crosswalk

Then, driving via intersection I might not see the car coming from the left of me perpendicularly. That may be because of parked cars, trees, another obstacles. As a result of that, accident can happen as follows:

To prevent this, I would like to install mirror on the hood. This will allow me to see car coming from the left. I am not sure, maybe school bus have this one. But maybe driver uses it for looking at children only.

Another example is usps car

Nearest auto station installed on my Chevy this mirror. They fixed it on the front right corner of the hood. However, I cannot see there anything apart from my hood. Thus, I removed it.

Could you please advise, how can I install the mirror on my car if I want to see cars coming from the left perpendicularly?
- What should be type of the mirror?
- What place of the hood (fender) should it be installed on?
- What cars already use it, e g some types of trucks etc?

you could install back up cameras looking left and right on the front bumper..  you could install them in the sides of the bumper cover.. you could install them in a license plate spacer block..  a friend of mine put a tiny camera in his right hand passenger door to watch for crazy people who like to pace in his blind spot

if your convex mirror was installed and all you could see was your hood.. it needed to be adjusted for the view you wanted..  or it was installed wrong..

there are cameras out there that don't reverse the view on the display.

go north.. Bellingham drivers are not nearly as bad. if you drive 27 in a 25 zone in Bellingham. the local police or sheriffs office will cite you for speeding.. i could not believe it.. but my sister showed me her ticket.

Thanks for your advice with the cameras. Yep, that could be good decision. But I just wanted something simple, not depending on electricity etc...
