monitoring the voltage and the current input.. checking for voltage drop. using an inductive clamp to monitor the DC frequency response.   checking the HF output. using a optical sensor to monitor the spectral output of the LEDs under various lighting conditions.

really...

i can explain farther.. if you have a

i probably have more tools than you do.

can you at least tell me YEAR MAKE AND MODEL car you are working on.. so i can supply you decent info..

most of the time.. components are REPLACED after testing the voltage and current using a volt meter..  this is where i start the testing..

after i clean off that debris.. i use my digital volt meter and perform the entire test step by step..

this is the inside where only few should ever be of an HID module..
4Kcpj69 it takes 12 volts and ramps it up to crazy voltage to light the high intensity discharge bulbs..  these get replaced.. NOT OPENED..

if you give me enough info.. i might get you an answer..
