I have a 2001 Pont. Grand Am 3400 *** eng. 4T45E trans. Shifting from P to D it slams into gear real hard. I have changed front and rear trans mounts, changed the pressure control solenoid on valve body, changed fluid & filter, had trans flushed and new fluid again. Car has 84,000 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated.

being an engine guy.. i want to ask.. what speed is the engine idling at in park???
do you have any vacuum leaks... causing a fast idle...
does the idle speed control motor respond...
has anybody tapered with the throttle lever stop screw in an attempt to correct the idle speed
one has to look up how to properly do the adjustment looking at a scan tool with live data on the display.. so the idle air counts are between 20 and 50 at idle..
that the proper thermostat is installed and the engine coolant temp sensor is sending out the proper signal to the ECM.. so the ECM knows exactly what the engine temp is.. if the ECT is out of whack.. it will hold the idle at too fast an rpm in an effort to warm the engine to operating temps..
the transmission pros may have some questions about other stuff...
like do you have any codes in the P0700 to P0799 range.. or any other p0000 codes...

I think I remember something about the IAT sensor/and or wiring causing problems like that. Don't hold that to the gospel but might be something to check into, for some reason that sounds eerily familiar to me.

darren... i take it that you have run into the TCC lock up issue where either the solenoid has debris blocking it.. or the pressure switch has failed so it locks the TCC when it warms.. causing it to stall when you come to a stop...
those are a pain.. as on the 440 its all under the side cover..
the best way is to get it hot on a test drive.. where its failing.. have the floor jacks waiting.. as soon as it starts acting up.. roll into the shop.. as you come to a stop.. jack up the car.. let the front wheels spin in drive up in the air... step on the brake... does it stall the engine... it should NOT...

Yes that was what came to mind. I've seen it happen on Dodge trucks.
