On average how much does removing this type of rust and repainting cost? Is the rust on this car in the pictures not worth restoring?

i have ask a forum member to have a look.. so do expect some kind of answer perhaps by tomorrow.. as he has probably gone to work already..
put up some more pictures of the sides.. the damage looks worse on the right side of the lower image..
it is also hard to quote a price for another body shop.. as different shops may do the repair differently...
about 15 years ago.. nissan bought up a bunch of those and restored them to factory specs.. they were great.. i bet they all ended up in collections as i have never seen but one being driven.. unlike nissans moto.. we are driven..

Howdy Wayne
I would not be suprised to see prices in the $2,500-3,000 range, just to fix the rust on the panels shown in the pics and repaint them with good quality work and materials. Of course there will be the guy who says fix all that and paint the whole car for a thousand, and what you pay for is what you get. If you're careful. The areas in need of attention make me suspicious about if the car has been hit from behind at some point. I recommend a very thorough inspection of the rear of the car because rust accelerates anytime the paint finish is damaged in a collision and there could be hidden rust hotspots elsewhere. The ripped and crooked bumper makes me even more suspicious. Or is that just peeling paint, can't tell for sure. Seriously, what I can see ain't too bad but like I said, watch out for what you can't see!
