I have a 95 honda civic which I recently changed the head gasket on. the engine fired on the first try and idles smoothly but when under a load it misfires and can only get up to about 25 to 30 mph. No check engine light is on and all hoses and electrical connectors seem to be attached. also replaced plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor. timing marks are dead on. any ideas?

1995 Honda Civic:

Available engines
4 Cylinders 1.5L MFI SOHC (found in 63% of 1995 Honda Civic)
4 Cylinders 1.5L MFI VTEC SOHC (found in 01% of 1995 Honda Civic)
4 Cylinders 1.6L MFI VTEC SOHC (found in 36% of 1995 Honda Civic)

which engine... is it a  VTEC with variable valve timing controlled by a solenoid on the end of the head...

get the Vtec screwed up.. and you will have issues..
