have new 2012 charger rt 5.7 hemi what should it idle at
its under full COMPUTER control.....it will idle at what ever the computer commands it to for the situation...with an OBD2 scan tool.. not just a code reader. there will be usually visible in the LIVE DATA STREAM display on the scan tool... something that may say Desired Idle speed... and next to it.. will be idle speed...with the engine off.. flip the ignition key on 4 times within 10 seconds.. without starting the motor.. just off. on.. off on.. off on.. off on.. with the final position ON.. the odometer will display any error codes.. be sure to write them down..if you have to take your car in for warrantee work... be sure that you LOG the trouble codes it sets and that the dealer WRITES the trouble codes down on the work order and they should also show up on the BILL when you get it back.. this is to prove they worked on and repaired these codes...
