I have a 98 ford escort, I have replaced the thermostat, radiator and had the water pump flushed, the car overheats when the car is going slow or very low rpm, when car speeds up it gets even hotter?? Anybody ?
do the radiator fans work... come on after about 3 or 4 minutes on a cold start.. run for 30 to 45 seconds then shut off.. in another 2 minutes on again for 30 seconds then off.. then about every minute and a half after that for 30 seconds.. at least thats what i recall timing one of those at.. with just the hair and the freckles on my wrist.. does the radiator pressure cap actually hold pressure??? some have failed.. after running it for a few minutes.. squeeze the upper radiator hose.. does it still have pressure inside it.. ???how fast does the engine build pressure in the cooling system.. those motors are KNOWN for blowing head gaskets and cracking heads...does it hold pressure with the engine off. and a radiator pressure tester hooked up and pumped up to 7 or 8 PSI..radiator pressure testers can be borrowed from some parts stores.. in the loan a tool section behind the counter.. you may need a separate radiator adaptor depending on the cap shape...usually in this kit..
