Year: 2004 Make: Pontiac Model: Grand Am Mileage: 113k
Ran into a couple of electrical problems today and I'm hoping you guys might be able to help me out.
Out of the blue today my Viper remote wouldn't disable the alarm. At first I assumed the battery was dying in the remote, so after setting off the alarm a few times and eventually finding my spare remote, it seemed to work again, only to have the same problem hours later with both remotes.
The next thing to happen was as I was driving, the "click-click-click" noise, normally reserved for when you have a turn signal on, starting going off while I was driving, whether or not the signal was on. I pulled the fuse on the turn signals and it stops the noise, however, I tried replacing the fuse and it persists.
I'm assuming these two issues are related, but I have no idea what could be causing them. If anyone has an idea, it'd be greatly appreciated.

just curious...
when the fuse is in.. and you hear the clicking noise..
are your dash board turn indicators flashing..
are the exterior lamps flashing and not showing up on the dash board???
this could be caused by the alarm being in some strange mode... as the alarms are usually wired into the turn signal/hazard flasher wiring .. to allow the alarm to flash the lights when you depress the remote button..
you did not mention if you happened to know which viper you have.. there seem to be several dozen different models..

When the fuse is in and the clicking noise is sounding, the indicators aren't flashing, nor are the exterior lamps.
The Viper model is 350HV. After I replaced the battery on the remote, both the original remote and spare remote stopped working... so I'm not sure if the original's malfunction was really because of the battery or just a fluke that the spare would work.

Turns out it was the connectors on the multi-switch that were dirty. This video showed me how to easily clean them to fix the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5g-1UkGFJA
Regarding the Viper, I reset the system with the valet switch and that seemed to work as well. Thanks for the suggestions.
