I have the above vehicle and am having problems with the cluster gages and HVAC controls not lighting. I pulled cluster and tested all bulbs. Then cleaned connector and reinstalled. Replaced rotary dim headlight switches and still no lights for IP? All fuses checked ok. I want to change BCM next but should I replace with a BCM without security to simplify? The BCM PN 4686492AF I have now has security but I am wondering if I should get one without security. And if so what BCM PN would that be without security. And do I have to program anything for a BCM without security. Should I be concerned about changing the odometer to match? PS this vehicle is a 3.8L engine. Pls HELP?

why not look for trouble codes first...
this whole thing is operated by the CAN system...
turn the key to the on position 3 times within 10 seconds with the last position in the on position.. the odometer will change from numbers to trouble codes... write them all down... post them here ..
if three turns... does not do it.. try 4.. off.. on.. off on.. off on .. off ON..
after you have written down the codes...
turn the key off...
hold the odometer reset button in.. while you turn the key on with your other hand... all the lights should come on.. and the needles sweep in steps.. this is the cluster test...
post codes...
if you cannot read them.. this way... access with a decent scan tool...

did you do the cluster self test... where you hold the odometer reset button in and turn the key on..
what brand and model scan tool did you use???
and i am taking that you did the ignition key trick as that displays all the codes..
the factory service manual is about 3000 pages long
