I am a student at the university of north dakota and I am taking my senior class that involves market analysis, product development, and continual improvement. I am investigating the benefits of hydrogen on demand generation using the electrolysis from your vehicles electrical energy, and also if this isn't an efficient system if the use of a combustion engines wasted thermal energy to create electricity is any more efficient. If anyone has any experience with this area or has used one of these systems and can give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated.
I have attached a link to a survey as well that will take all of two minutes of your time.

weird .. there are all kinds OF H2o devices for cars.. that use electricity to separate hydrogen from oxygen by electrolysis where 2 or more electrodes separate water at the base level... what is interesting is water is actually an ash from the combustion of hydrogen and oxygen.. it can be separated and then joined again.. and again..
the trick is to be able to separate enough hydrogen to produce enough fuel to run a motor.. this takes a significant amount of current.. which requires a significant amount of power..
whats interesting my mom told me of 1932 or 1933 here in los angeles of a man named Mr Quist.. who showed the area kids his runs on water motor.. he filled the tank with water from the garden hose faucet.. dropped a tablet into the tank and screwed a cap on the tank.. then he was able to start and run this small engine.. mr Quist vanished one day.. never to be heard from again.. nobody even knew what happened to him..
i have always wondered about this... wondered if one could use on of the reactive metals with water to create hydrogen gas and oxygen... metallic sodium.. metallic potassium , metallic lithium are all highly reactive with water or moisture..
even using the powder that can turn water into peroxide.. that would be easier to use.. as you could make very small batches of high test peroxide.. spray them at high pressure into a pressure vessel with a platinum grid to decompose the hydrogen/oxygen bond.. creating both gasses and heat that causes them to recombine and create steam and some extra oxygen.. this would be used to create high pressure steam to run a triple expansion steam engine.
