I have a friend with a 95 Nissan PU 2.4L with an RL4R01A transmission in it. I tore the trans down to find out it needs too many hard parts so he is looking for a used trans. From what I hear this trans was only used for 2 years. Any one have or know of a good used trans?
Thanks Bob

Generally you can get the whole gear train set relatively cheap from WIT, assuming that is what's bad like they usually are. I would strongly recommend bypassing the rad. & installing an auxiliary cooler ( large ) on any RL4/RE4RO1A which ever way you go.

Gear train is fine. What is bad is the pump and rev drun. It is a two wheel drive trans.

I have always had good luck with VTP Transmissions in Brooklyn NY. They probably have a unit and the hard parts whichever way you decide to go. And that is great advice from boone1 about bypassing the radiator with an aux cooler. I do that on every RE unit.

VTP trans. Parts I'll have to google them 440t4 or is that ME9 ( RPO code ). I'm always open for suggestions on parts suppliers.

I agree completly about the cooler. I sometimes deal with VTP in South Jersey.
