Okay guys, so this is the first car i've owned that I actually care about buying quality, high performane tires for it. Where should I start looking for information? I believe the tires are 245/45/18 from the factory.  I need something that performs well, has *reasonable* tire life, and isn't going to completely break the bank. I live in southern IL, so they'll be used year around, in cold, hot, and rain.

just hang on.. there is a forum member who really knows tires who drops in a few times a week..

i took a look at one of the online tire suppliers.. i saw 70 options in tires..  from just over 500 bucks for 4 to over 1500 bucks for 4..   then there were winter tires..

Only you can make the buying choice but there are some key points to consider prior to doing so.  Where to make the purchase, what brand to choose, what tread design would be best for my vehicle and geographic area, what is the overall mechanical condition of my vehicle and last but not least, what is my budget?  Do some research, buy local and stick with a brand you are familiar with.  Continental Extreme Contact DWS as well as Cooper Zeon RS3-A's are nice products offering you two different price points.  Two tips to share, no China and no mail order!!
