Hi All,
Trying to decide whether it's worth the expense to replace the seal. I was told that sometimes a dried out seal will put a groove in the crank and a new seal will not necessarly cure the problem. Vehicle has approx 230k miles and has no other major issues other that the annoying leak. Any input on this would be appreciated.Engine is a 302.

Lets face it, you are on the far end of life left in this engine. try a healthy dose of one of the oil seal stop leak products and don't spend amy more than you have to. Oil is cheap compared to rebuilding it.
