I have an antenna that needs replacing. It was snapped off. The slotted chrome threaded piece above the rubber boot does not want to come off and I have tried the screw driver tap after it has been soaked WD-40 and Kroil to no avail. I've considered using a dremel and thin cut-off blade to remove it. Also there doesn't seem to be any other access to the guts of this antenna other than taking the fender off. It is barely visible between the frame and opened door. Any suggestions or experience with this similar situation would be greatly appreciated? The hubby is going crazy without his tunes.

Antenna was snapped off my tacoma pickup at a car wash and left the thread bottom below the rubber boot. I utilized a utility knife and a sheetrock putty knife to cut a line deep enough, then use an electronic flat screw driver to unscrewed the threaded bottom. Take a bit of time and patience to make the cut. Becareful to not slip & scratch the paint on the truck.
