Similar to the TWEEL which was developed by Group Michelin a while back. Looks like this latest design  by Bridgestone does little to address the drawbacks of earlier designs such as vibration due to wheel flex above 50 MPH, wind noise inherent to this type wheel and last but not least the fact that the assembly is immune to the effects of "spike strips" used by most of todays law enforcement agencies.  The thought is that more R&D is required before we can expect a production piece for use in applications other than low speed industrial fitments.
