Good day, I just joined this forum and hope to find an answer...
So, this morning I went to back-up from a parking (after driving for a while), but the truck was hard to back-up, like if it was on the parking-brake, but it wasn't. After couple minutes of driving, I had to use the brakes and to my surprise the pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes. After that incident, brakes worked a bit (when not pressed hard), but I have none now (had to use lower gears and parking-brake to slow down the truck). What could be the source of the problem ?
Dodge Ram 1500 2006 4x4, Standard transmission (I had transmission problems in the past)
Thanks you, Amqui

this cannot be easily diagnosed over the internet..
a question.. do you have antilock brakes???? did any lights on the dash board come on when you applied the brakes..
it requires somebody with a knowledge of brakes..
there are a few things to check...
check the brake fluid level... should be within 1/2 inch or so from the top of the neck...
if the rubber seal on the cap is all enlarged and distorted.. you might have gotten the wrong fluid in the brake system... that truck takes DOT 3 brake fluid....
if that truck has a hydraulic clutch master cylinder.. that gets DOT 3 fluid also..
no other type of fluid is used... NOT power steering fluid.. NOT transmission fluid...
brake fluid is alcohol and glycerine .. its NOT petroleum based...
if the incorrect fluid got poured into the master.. it usually swells up the cap gasket..
i can post some articles on brakes similar to your truck.. but there is just so much to know.. how to diagnose why you don't have brakes..
you could have a wheel bearing going bad... where the front rotor is laying at an angle through the pads... that happens a lot of cars and trucks lately...
