Hello, Does anyone know the correct timing for a 92 Sonoma 2.5L 4Cyl?

8 before at 600 Rpms.. with the A and B terminals on the diagnostic connector under the dash board jumped..

if you set the crank to 8 before.. you can turn the distributer housing to align the tips of the reluctor and the pick up coil and lock it in place... this will get you so close that you only need to double check with a timing light.

the above image is of a reman distributer..
if your reluctor looks like the one below... check for cracks as shown...

Thanks, I had forgot about shorting the A and B terminals. I assume, the timing advance is handled by the ECM on this engine. Do you remember where on the metal block with the degree marks, 8 degrees BTDC is positioned? I don't recall how many degrees the total width of the block is.

the timing pointer plates have numbers stamped in them... or visible.. use a small wire brush.. or a can of carb or brake cleaner to spray the dirt off it..
