crankshaft bolt - left or right handed threads?

I have a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan SE with a 3.0 liter engine. I need to know if the threads in the end of the crankshaft are right or left-handed threads?  I can't seem to turn the bolt and I want to be sure that I am trying to loosen it.

conventional thread..


except for a few alternator belt tension pulley bolts on mid 90s gm cars..

i take it that you are going to change the timing belt...    hopefully the water pump...  also...

there are also water pump tubes under the intake behind the water pump.. they have been known to corrode on earlier models..

the water pumps come without a rear cover some times.. some brands with...

oh.. you will have to open the images in a new window or print the images..  they should help a LOT...

pay attention to the power steering pump bracket  the 3.0 is in the lower right corner...
