Is there a way to turn the idol up on a 95 mazda protege xl
remove and clean the throttle body bore..remove and check and probably clean the idle air control valve..use care that you don't get solvents into the Electric components..this is the idle air control valve..the hoses have engine coolant usually.... so be careful..its hard to tell in this picture.. but the air bypass circuit is from the square in the lower right to the large tube at the top of the picture.. there is coolant flowing through the other passages.. dirty throttle bores are usually the cause of low idle speeds..you might want to ,,,, if your engine does not want to idle.. and its not to hard.. remove the fan belt.. and verify that all the pulleys are free to turn.. i have heard of a few AC compressor pulley bearings failing.. requiring much more power to turn... this can cause idle problems.. this is a rare thing to happen.. dirty throttle bores are the usual problem...vacuum or air leaks in the ducts are also a problem ...
