Hi

I have a Nissan Note which needed all 4 of its tyres changing. As we are going into winter I decided I would fit winter tyres however the tyre dealer I used told me that they couldn't get tyres for my size and suggested I fitted slightly different size. I asked if this was ok and he said yes as long as there is Clearence which he would check. I trusted him and told him to go ahead. Now I feel the car feels different to drive and am not sure if it is due to the winter tyre itself or the fact that the size has changed.

My original tyres were 185/55 R16 and the new winter tyres are 195/55 R16.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Can you change the tyre size like that? And Do winter tyres always feel different any way. I have to add also the the temperature had not dropped below 11 degrees C since I have fitted them too. I had heard they start to perform below 7 degrees.

I am a bit clueless about all of this so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sami

Your description of how the feel changed is quite vague.  But it is likely that the change in feel is due to the difference in tire and not the difference in size.
