My liftgate was staying up one day with no problems noticed, the next day, the door does not stay up. There is no bend in the rods or anything that I can see. Could the hydrolics go out that quickly? An electric issue?

i just took a look at one of the online mopar parts catalogs..
the lift cylinders are under 20 bucks each for your grand cherokee......
i have not have the pleasure of needing to install these for customers yet.... so i don't have first hand instructions... yet...
i would check the lift gate... to make sure it does NOT slosh... i don't know if there is any place it might have a leak where rain could get in and not drain out.. but changes in weight would weigh heavy on the supports..
