I have a 95 Lumina LS with a 3.4L DOHC V-6 and I took it to the shop to see why the air wasn't staying cold or the compressor turning on. When you put freon in the car it used to last for about a month but now it is only lasting about 3 or 4 days. The shop told me that the compressor had a crack in it. I was just wondering if that was possible of if that sounds like its the problem
it could have a leaking compressor shaft seal.... it could have a leaking oring on one of the fittings... it could have a leaking evaporator.. or condenser..you could have a leaking hose where its crimped to the fittings...ac stuff usually needs to be examined by a ac specialist... or somebody who knows what they are doing and has the specialized tools and equipment to do it... nothing is cheep working on an ac systemhave the shop examine the system.. write you a written estimate... if you don't like it.. take it to another shop see if they come up with the same thing..
