I just bought a 05 ram 1500 hemi. The guy i bought it from sold to me because he had enough. The truck has had a dtc p0406 code for the passed year and not even the dealer can fix it. The code discription is EGR sensor A circuit high, has anybody else encountered this and what is the fix. The truck seems to run well, but sometimes there is a hesitation. Help me out.
with a scan tool.... where is the EGR valve position sensor voltage at????the egr position sensor should have between 0 and 5 volts... i am looking through the manuals to find an exact voltage.normally i can fiend something.. i have not found anything..with a scan tool plugged into probably the EGR valve as it seems to have more wires that i would think it normally gets wired with..see what the EGR sensor voltage is.. see if it changes when you drive it .. get it over 35MPH.. you can try unplugging the EGR valve.. see if the sensor voltage drops to 0.. it should.. if not.. or if its close to the full 5 volts.. you might have a shorted wire..
