I have a 1989 2500 pickup.The tranny will not shift out of low untill about 33 mph. HELP!!!
i have an 89 pontiac firebird that is doin the exact same thing. mine has been sitting around for a few years though,and when mine finally does shift, it is a neck breaking shift. i was told it has to do with a valve in the govenor sticking, or improper TV cable adjustment. I added some lucas automatic transmission treatment to it, and it has seemed to help a little.
most likely intermediate (2nd) clutchs are slipping/burnt
