rear shocks...
please.. start with the cheapest shocks you can get... there are generally 3 levels of shocks... look it up online at the various parts stores.
if you don't carry much... go CHEEP..... if you carry a lot of weight... in the back of the truck that is... go to the medium priced shock....
why... if you go straight to a mid or high priced shock.. you will get a nice firm ride... one where you feel every crack in the road... right in your back..
save money.. start cheep... cheep is under 17 bucks a shock..
oh.. sorry.. the cheep ones are a little more expensive than the earlier applications...
For your 2005 Dodge Truck RAM 1500 1/2 ton 2WD this is what my local AZ prices them at.. prices vary...
Gabriel Ultra/Shock/Strut - Rear Price:$34.99 Part Number: G63675 Alternate Part Number: G60218
Gabriel Ltv/Shock/Strut - Rear Price:$43.99 Part Number: 58412 Alternate Part Number: EG58412
Gabriel Max Control/Shock/Strut - Rear Price:$53.99 Part Number: 77412

waynep, thank you for the info. I just talked today with a co-worker who has the identical truck to mine but a 2006 model year; and a lot more miles, too.[85000] He said he replaced his shocks at 50,000 miles with Monroe Sensa-Trac ones. I have used Gabriel on my vehicles in the past and I will check the ones you mentioned. David.
