2006 hyundai santa fe

My wife has a santa fe and I just got her an AM head unit, and normally I'm pretty good with install, but im not sure how to remove her stock properly. any idea?

one thing.. just what is a HEAD unit???

first thought is a cylinder head.. second thought it a radio...

other than that... or perhaps one of the seat rests...

i am lost..  actually i am out of date..


one thing.. if you are talking about the radio..  you will really want to dive into the radio manual.. and verify that its totally compatible with the hyundai model you are working with...

you will also want to find a radio harness extender..  a what...

yep.. its a socket  with wires hanging out the end that extend the factory cable without cutting the factory cable end off...

why...  because.. most devices in 2002 and newer cars are controlled by the ECM...  including the stereo system..

there have been jeeps that when an IPOD adaptor in.. shut off all of the electronics in the car till it was removed..
