I am building a 1986 mustang and am wondering if anyone knows what the wider 17inch tire is that I can put on. thank you http://www.my86mustangvert.com
That year the (Mustang)GT came with 225/60R15 Goodyear "Gatorbacks" as O.E. With this in mind you would be looking for a tire with a diameter of 26" +/-. I would look for a 245/45R17 as this was the tire size which came on the next generation GT. Not to say 100% guarantee you will not have any clearance issues but it is a good starting point. The unknowns are wheel offset as well as any body and/or suspension mods etc which may cause interference.
