if you have NOT disconnected the battery .. or unplugged the distributer...

jump in the truck...   turn the ignition key on .. then off then on then off then on.. leaving it in the ON position..

three times on in under 10 seconds...  this will activate the check engine light.. it will start flashing any codes that have set...

the lowest code is a code 12...    the last is a code 55 ....

code 12 is ...    flash............... flash ..... flash................... flash .................flash....  flash.........    see the pattern...

first step... get any codes....  then look them up...... if the computer is working... you should get a code 12 and a code 55...   the codes usually are repeated 3 times before they go on to the next code....   you can turn the key off and retry it as many times as you like...    you can only reset the codes by disconnecting the battery...

copy and paste these links..

notice the auto shut down relay. in the upper left corner.. those can go bad...    check for power on the positive side of the coil... and the positive side of the injectors...  it controls both...

this looks like a 5.2 dakota diagram.. but it is the 3.9 also....

notice the auto shut down circuit that powers the ignition coil positive and the fuel injectors positive is the dark green and orange wire...

post what you find...

Check engine light does not even illuminate when key is in on position and will not flash when triggered. Also at this point i have no power to coil or fuel pump, i checked and swapped the auto shut down relay with no change in the problem...one thing i noticed is the auto shutdown and fuel pump relay all have their power sources but the relays do not click when key is turned

print that... test the various circuits at the where it says..

hot at all times...

and where is says... hot in run and start...

with that diagram PRINTED OUT...   you should have enough info to test for power at various places in the circuit..

check your messages above and left of where you log out at.. .
