Nokian is Western European tire producer currently providing many products for U.S. distribution and are quite well known for their winter tires. Many dealers like selling this line of tires because the lack of exposure will generally provide them the opportunity for a higher margin at the point of sale. The I3 shares many of the same attributes common to the Yokohama Avid TRZ, Sumitomo HTR-Z III, Goodyear Eagle GT (latest version)or Dunlop SP01 to name just a few. These tires are all very deserving of your consideration as well. Unfortunatly, weather they are long lasting or not is typically in the hands of their owner. "Good ride" is a relative term best defined by the owner as well. "Discontinued", tough question. The tire industry is notorious for discontinuing products, somtimes to only bring them back a couple years later as they see fit.

The Nokian I3 has been discontinued. The Nokian enTYRE is the current direct replacement. Great all season tire. Here's why:
Excellent wet grip and stability Cooling edge 3D sipes Hyrdoplaning indicator Polished grooves Purified oils Low rolling resistance
Should expect to see at least 75,000 miles out of these tires. Great buy. I got mine from TiresByWeb.com.
Good luck!
