Smaller Winter tires to replace larger All Season

Does anyone know if what I'm doing is safe or not. I have a Hyundai Tucson 2010. The All Season tires on the Tucson are 225/55/R18. I have winter tires and rims from my 2003 Honda CRV. The winter tires from the CRV are 205/65/R16. The winter tires/rims from my CRV fit on the new Tucson. I installed the smaller winter tires and rims on the Tucson (they fit easily)...is this a bad idea? Or does it really matter?

Any ideas?

That would be going down in load carrying capacity, and that increases the risk of a load related tires failure, which sometimes has tragic results.
