hi, ive got a 2008 ford focus that was recently in an accidnt where the drivers airbag deployed and the radiator and ac condensor both broke, i replaced the radiator and the condensor, i havnt replaced the airbag just yet, but when i tried to move it, the car starts just fine and sounds good while running, it idles in all gears with no probs(auto trans) just when i step on the gas nothing happens it just keeps idleing, any idea whats wrong or how to fix it? thanks
oh it also has a sealed air system instead of a filter that also broke that i havnt replaced yet if that matters

is it possible that something got unplugged or the terminals yanked out of the crimp terminals when the accident happened... might not be visible...
but it will show up with a scan tool...
you might also want to be sure to disconnect the old air bag...
i don't know if newer cars have a program that if the airbags deploy.. the throttle is deactivated... prevents run away cars after an air bag deployment.. but i was designing software... if the ECM/BCM sees a deployed air bag... it would prevent the throttle from working... but not stop the engine from running.. you might be alone and need the warmth from the heater core..
so... look at the data stream with a OBD2 scan tool with CAN software...

ok thanks alot for the detailed response, will look into getting that tool, also i was wondering that if it is the software preventing the throttle from working, if i reset the computer by disconecting the battery for a few mins, would that help at all? or would it still detect the deployed airbag?
