I have just bought an Isuzu Rodeo (Import to the UK) It performs Ok around town acceleration ok etc. but on the motorway it struggles to reach 65mph and thats on the flat, show it a hill and it loses the will to live. I have had it looked at by two main dealers who have been as much use as a wet weekend! Various opinions are:- some kind of a problem with the electronics! A problem with the fly by wire on the accelerator/Injector pump! A faulty ECU! Is there anybody out there who can be more specific and direct me to some real help/information???

Do you have a cataylitic convertor on it, it may be plugged.

yes i've had this 91 rodeo for 12 yrs. and it always seemed to me that it lacked power since day 1, mine has the 3.1 gm motor i believe that was the only year that put this engine out (not sure though?)like the two barrel isnt kicking in or something? like you said it,s good around town but on the highway i get blown away and that the gear pattern seems too tight (low)sometimes i can feel a quick pick-up for a split second and thats it! i really like this vehicle though and i am trying to get to the bottom of this issue also! is yours a five speed? mine has 162,000 on it,and another issue it seems to shake a little more than usual at idle,i'm thinking rebuild but i dont know if that will fix the problem, maybe take it to the dealer and put it on a machine for 75 bucks or so,like i said ive owned mine for 12 yrs and actually been trouble-shooting this issue since day one,  i'll keep you posted if i have any luck! tony.
