Does my 2008 Subaru Impreza really needs the service every 3 months even if I drove it less than 3750 miles since the last service? My dealer and the service booklet say so but I have my doubts.

Just keep in mind to change your oil every 3-4000 miles, and check under the hood once a week(oil levels, and check for odd/wierd sounds) for any problems. There no need to bring it in every 3 months to get service, they just want more money lol.

You should change your oil every 3-5,000 miles or every six months whichever occurs sooner. There are other things that should be done at these intervals to properly maintain your vehicle and save you money in the long run. This includes tire rotation, fluid levels, cooling system fluid ph, brake pads, and general under the hood check. You might also try to find a reputable independent http://www.autorepairsantamaria.comshop instead of the dealer. Often times dealers have service writers who are sales people that do want to sell you more things that you may not need. A good independent shop needs bread and butter customers that service their cars routinely and will usually do all of these checks and tire rotation as part of an oil change service and will keep you informed of upcoming maintenance issues. If you found this post helpful you may want to check out the educational videos and articles at http://autorepairsantamaria.com/?page_id=157 to help you understand how to avoid getting ripped off and how to cost effectively maintain your vehicle.
