My LS is down to 3/32" tread depth, so I have been researching replacement tires. I am considering a Bridgestone Potenza Grid 019(size is: 235/50R17), but a number of reviews complained about tire noise. These tires have 12/32 tread depth, so I thought, all things being equal they would last longer. The tire noise makes me reconsider.
Has anyone out there had first hand experience with these tires?

First thing to consider is that measured tread depth does not have as much to do with the life of a tire as one would expect. Many other things affect tread life more than tread depth such as tread design and rubber compounding. Opinion, if it were my Lincoln LS I would not opt for a directional style tread as they are subject to slightly faster and more irregular wear. Irregular wear combined with a directional tread design will typically make for a louder tire. Therefore, if noise is a major consideration than look for tires with either a symmetrical or asymmetrical tread design.
