I'm very confused.

I fell in love with the Toyota Tacoma (4 door, black, Pre-Runner), and I was set to get it.

But sadly, I don't think I can afford the monthly payments, and the general upkeep right now. Maybe someday i'll get the truck of my dreams.

Anyway, so i've decided on something a little smaller, more economical and practical.  I'm looking at the Honda Civic, Accord, Toyota Camry (and or possibly the Rav4).

2010 Honda Civic:

Pros: It's affordable, even after all the installations and specifications I want. It's gas efficient. And it's been known to have a long life, assuming you take good care of it.

Cons: I don't like the way the back looks.  And it's kind of low, which I don't like.

2007 Honda Accord:

Pros: It's SOMEWHAT affordable, meets all my specifications, and looks good.

Cons: It'll be used, or at least 3 years old, and I want to get as young a car I can for a decent price.

2010 Toyota Camry:

Pros: I've always liked the looks of this car.  It also meets my specifications.  I think it's slightly higher than Hondas.  I've had good track records with Camry (I'm driving a '92 wagon right now).

Cons: It's expensive, and I might as well get the Tacoma.

2010 Rav4:

Pros: It looks nice, and is more affordable than a Camry. It's also pretty fuel efficient for it's size.

Cons: It's kind of... fuddy duddy. It kind of looks like an old persons car.

HELP~! I'm not sure what I want! I just want a nice new(ish) car!

Well Honda is always the younger and more aggressive brand image, with some racing heritage. In another word "cooler" than Toyota. There is no perfect solution to every answer. But since the Civic is the best selling small car many years in a row. I would go for that. Plus it is the most affordable. And you wouldn't look old LOL. I'm a 2009 Camry owner, 20K miles. I do not recomend this car. My 09 has an alignment problem that seems to be a defect that Toyota dealer (s) cannot correct. The car was fine new, 4 to 5 alignments in 20k is unacceptable in my book. An independant shop managed to get the car to drive straight for only a couple of months. My 2000 Camry has no issues at all. Whish I still had it.
