I have a 2004 jeep liberty.I,ve noticed that since the weather has been cold, When I start my jeep, the oil light comes on. If i turn it off and restart it, the oil light doesn't come back on. This only happens if the car has been turned off for more than a few hours. I've changed the oil from 5w30 to 10w30 in hopes that a heavier oil grade would help but so far no luck. Any suggestions???

you might want to have the oil pressure switch or oil pressure sending unit changed...  before they take it out have them spray clean the area around where it is screwed in..  while the mechanic has the switch unscrewed ... have them disable the ignition and crank the motor... this pumps oil out of the passage.. lately there have been problems with a little sludge build up in the passage right at the switch...  cranking it with the switch out clears that passage.. then they can screw the new switch in..

chances are that is your problem..      this has been covered here on this site with other jeeps...
