Lincoln...American Luxury. That's the slogan on the Lincoln logo I posted above and if you are going to call yourself "American Luxury" I believe you have to set a very high standard for yourself. However, in the case of Lincoln that really hasn't been the case in my opinion. Recently while reading different articles I stumbled upon this article which stated that Ford is struggling to remake the Lincoln brand.
Lincoln was supposed to overtake its sister brand, Mercury, become the dominant partner and ultimately eliminate the need for Mercury. Instead, Mercury continued to outsell Lincoln, and Ford now plans to add a small car to the Mercury lineup for 2012.
Now though it may be true that Lincoln hasn't been up to standards, in the last 2 years Lincoln has gone through some major modifications and has come up with some impressive models. Some of these models include the Lincoln MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT, and a remodeled Navigator. Yet some people don't see Lincoln as a luxury brand, instead as a re-badged Ford with extra blows and whistles.
So now I ask you, do you believe Lincoln is a luxury brand? What changes would you do to Lincoln to push itself upscale? What would your suggestion to Ford be? Will Lincoln get to the next level or is this it for the next 10 years?

Well the new models are there at this time but the problem is that Ford has given pretty much every "new" feature to there Ford vehicles as well as there Lincolns vehicles. So what people are saying is, "What's the point of paying more money for a Lincoln when they can get the same features and tools on a Ford and get it cheaper??" So Ford needs to push Lincoln to a higher standard.
