Old ball joints show slight loosness when jacked up and with pry bar under tire. Have tried using balljoint press (O'Reilys C-Clamp style) to remove old joints. Cannot get upper or lower to loosen at all. Should I continue using penetrating oil, heat with torch, use air hammer, or what? Does one of these lock in with a "C" clip?
Same problem with Steering Damper/Stabilizer, using Gear Puller it will not budge.
I have not yet used extreme pressure on press or puller (no cheater bar on my 1/2" ratchet). Want to be able to drive to shop if cannot replace myself.
I have replaced these items on older Ford and GM cars. Any suggestions??
