I've been driving a 01 Honda Accord EX for the past 8 yrs and looking to get a lower mileage used car.  I commute 70 miles roundtrip to work so I would like something nicer.  My requirements:
1. Nice cabin and modern amenities - leather, heated seats and an ipod plugin.
2. Back seat capable of fitting a couple of car seats and an adult if needed.
3. Drivable in bad weather. I wont say absolutely no rear wheel drive but I live in Indiana and am a bit leary.

Here are some of the options I have narrowed it down to:

2002-Audi A6 AWD $8000 w/ 70K mi
2003 or 2005 Acura TL w 60K miles - $16K (05) or $11k (03)
2004 Mercedes E320 w 81K mi - $16K

I am also still considering a BMW 3 or 5 series and Lexus...

The Mercedes is a sweet car (actually sitting in my garage as the dealer let me have it for the weekend) but I'm nervous about repair costs and maintenance costs.  I don't have any of the repair records (either from owner or CARFAX). Also, would need to stick another $1000 into snow tires and rims.  The Audi is about 1/2 the cost and I think has the amenities that I need (going to test tomorrow).  The Acura I think would be the more practical and probably most reliable from what I have read.

I'm concerned about repair and maintenance - for example, I think most of the German cars require synthetic oil changes. I know the average repair is higher.

Thoughts and other suggestions?

To the extent price plays a role, you can see if you are getting a killer deal or not at Carsala. It's tiring to do all this research by yourself.
