While I was driving in the snow I got on the throttle a little it. I was at 5k rpm then my tires spun and the check engine light blinked about 10-15 times then went off right after. About two weeks ago I installed an Injen cold air intake so I am not sure if that had anything to do with it. After some research I have read that blinking could mean a misfire and/or a mix between fuel/air ration. But it seems in all these cases the light always stays on and does not go away directly after the blinking. It has never done this before, just since I have put in my cold air intake. Should I be worried?

when the check engine light flashes... it sets a code.. there are over 1,000 possible codes on some cars...
whats the code????
there are codes... on some cars.. that when you have excessive wheel spin... it sets a HARD code... one that will not go out.. one that cannot be reset... Warrantee VOID driver abuse...
people have pulled off the sales lot with brand new cars and truck... got around the corner.. did a burn out.. and set the code... oh yea... when codes set.. they also record the throttle position. the vehicle speed.. the engine rpm.. the throttle position.. just enough to hang you ... ;-)
by the way.. don't throw away the old parts... you might need them later... box them all up.. seal the box and label it..

I had a similar problem with my 97 legacy 2.2, well low and behold, I found that one of the spark plugs was actually unthreading itself, check the plugs that's probably why you have the miss fire, as for wheel spin! well Subarus are AWD so if they threw a code for wheel spin then all of them would have the code, the cars are designed to have excess spin. Check the plugs and replace all 4 be sure to seat them right and torque them down to the required amount, and replace the plug wires(napa 25 bucks), as far as the intake you may be causing problems to your MAF(mass airflow unit on the intake pipe) get rid of the intake! they don't like it unless its a turbo.
