Hello, My Ford Escape seems to be having troubles. The other day, upon starting the car, I noticed the engine sputtering and the engine light blinking. The owner's manual informed me that I was experiencing engine misfire, so I drove home and parked it. The acceleration was very sluggish at the time, and the engine continued sputtering and being really jumpy. I checked the oil and it seemed pretty low, so I added oil and the sputter went away and the engine light went off. Now, the car seems to be having a lot of trouble getting through gears 1 and 2, accelerating really slowly and hitting relatively high rpms, but once it gets into third gear, everything works fine and there is no apparent trouble. It is an automatic transmission. Any suggestions?
