i have a 89 pontiac grand prix se with a 3.1 and a 4t60 transmission i recently bought the car for 250 off a neighbor nothing was wrong with it and i have to drive 45 miles to work and back a few days a go it was working fine and then i hit the stop and go traffic when i realized that i only have first and second it wont hit 3rd or 4th when it trys but the rpms just raise no speed though i was told by a fellow friend that the transmission shift solenoid is going bad or is bad because he encountered this problem with his a few years back would this be my issue or what else could it be there is no burnt fluid or and change of color also my fluid is a the right level where is should be because i check it everyday before i make my trip to work and back i would really like the help
