I'm currently going through the process of looking at getting a car, still driving the parents car, and I want something of my own . Anyways, after a good deal of research I think  I have decided to go with the GTI, probably a 02, or 03. My question is, is there a major difference between the two, I'm pretty new when it comes to cars in general, so please explain. In looking, there is a little price difference between the two, and every penny helps...  also, does anyone here recommend buying a car online, without checking it? I have had different people tell me different things, and for the most part, I can usually find a car for less in, say, Florida, than close by. Obviously i want a independent dealer to check it out first.... Any other recommendations for a first time car buyer? while I'm asking...
