I have a 1LT AWD 4cyl equinox, capable of hauling up to 1500lbs..

My primary hauling is simply a 4 bike bike rack that i had on my grand prix v6.. its a 1.25" bike rack..

From what i've read, correct me if wrong.. if i go with a 2" hitch, and use a converter down to 1.25" , this reduces the ability to put 4 bikes, to 2 bikes?

But.. if i go with the standard 1.25" hitch, as on the grand prix, i can use the bike rack (obviously), but then get a 1.25" to 2" adapter to be able to haul a small trailer capable of pulling say a tractor or single wave runner (down the road) without reducing the capacity down from 1500??

So i'm not sure which hitch to put on.. uhaul has the 1.25" one and the 2" "rounded" one..

I'm also not that familiar with trailers for hauling those types of things.. are they simply 2" or 1.25", some that i've found look a little different..

Anyone have any thoughts on which one to go with?  I'm guessing the 1.25" one at this point?

Thanks for any help

I think i discovered the answer.. that i basically can go with the 1.25" receiver and then get a ball that matches that of the trailer connector later on...
