We're in an accident several months ago where a person backed in to our driver side slide door. The insurance company totaled the van, and gave us a payout. We chose to keep it, since our daughter will be driving soon. We had a local body shop guy straighten the door as best he could and fix the paint. The problem is that the door doesn't close as tightly as before and causes the lights to flicker on and off, the door locks to lock and unlock and the alarm to go off. What can I do to prevent this annoying problem? I trid removing the fuse, but the fuse also works the interior lights, as well as the blinker...so had to put it back in. I only want to disconnect this side and keep the other doors working, if possible...can anyone help? Thanks, in advance for your time!

almost all switches for interior lights are adjustable.....
is the switch on the hinge side.. or the latch side..
does it look like a SW937 door jam switch over at autozone... i have used rubber Orings behind the switch body flange to space it out from the door jam on others...
it is possible to remove the switch... unplug the wire from the back... wrap some tape around the end and include a string into the tape... the string so you can push the wire back inside... put the disconnected switch back and the door and leave the string hanging out from under the switch.. so you can pull it out at a later time... you might also want to use a sticker or just a magic market.. and write Disconnected on the door jam next to the switch..
the reason for the tape around the wire... to prevent the end from falling down inside the jam... touching something and turning on the interior lights... the string... just forethought..
