Soo my Chevy cavaliar just got back from a shady mechanic and he fixed the problem.. Cracked heads... and now every now and then driving all of a sudden the Trac off light will come on and the car starts having problems shifting gears! any ideas?

the traction control light coming on... indicates a trouble code has been set.... the only way to tell whats wrong is to access the trouble code with a scan tool...
then follow the trouble shooting charts on line or in the factory service manual...
there are a lot years of those chevys made... if you need more help when you post a code... post year , make , model, engine ,, and which transmission if you know it...
the traction control unit uses the antilock brake wheel speed sensors... along with a bunch of other things... including some of the sensors from the air bag system...
autozone.com will have some data on the system... but you did not post a year.. or an engine..

alldatadiy.com is alldatas site... both have factory repair infomation...
